Well, it finally happened!  When I woke up Saturday morning, April, the giraffe, had finally had her baby.

The giraffe calf was born just before 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York. It only took a half an hour before the calf was up and walking around.  If only kids were that quick, am I right?

For a few months now, people around the world have been watching a live feed waiting for the birth to happen; the veterinarians at the Animal Adventure Park have also been posting updates on the park's Facebook page. On Thursday, they posted that April seemed “a bit out of it” and it looked like there was more “significant bulging” in April’s belly.

More than a million people watched the birth Saturday morning.

So now the big question is, what did she have, a boy or a girl?  Good question, according to ABC7/Chicago:

Staff said that April's delivery was "perfect" and that everything went according to plan. They will release the calf's gender once it is known.

You can still watch April and her baby on the live feed HERE or see the birth and more on their Facebook page.
