The Critter Barn hosts its annual Hoe Down at the Baker Lofts in Holland on Thursday, October 17th. Guests will have the opportunity to meet volunteer and staff members, and learn about how the Critter Barn is working with thousands of kids each year. Special guest Lauren Joldersma from Holland Boys and Girls Club will share about the weekly program the Critter Barn's staff is providing for the South Side Boys and Girls Club of Holland and Rock Urban Youth Ministry.

Proceeds from this year’s event go to three specific Critter Barn programs:
-Programs for kids with special needs
-Weekly outreach to urban youth
-And mentor programs for kids who volunteer at the farm.

This year’s dinner centers on the Year of the Cow theme, and features hamburgers made from ground steak.

The Hoe Down is an annual event designed to raise support for the educational farm. In addition to dinner, this year’s event has fund-raising games, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, live auction with John Petroelje, and the crowd-pleasin’, toe-tappin’ moo-sic from Steve Weidman’s Bluegrass Band.
