This Saturday, March 7, the Academy of Design & Construction’s Advisory Council, along with title sponsor Triangle Associates, Inc., is hosting the third annual Academy of Design & Construction Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament, raising money to fund scholarships for academy students.

Over the last two years, more than $14,000 has been raised to provide scholarships to deserving students.

Last year, 18 teams played in the tournament, and they have grown by 5 teams for a total of 23 this year.

Also, an ADC student alumni team is to compete against teams of design and construction professionals.

Norm Brady, who is president and CEO of the Associated Builders and Contractors' West Michigan chapter, says it is rewarding to hear the stories of the students that have gone on from the ADC to pursue careers in design and construction.

The organization supports the Grand Rapids Public Schools high school program.

The tournament is Saturday (March 7) at Innovation Central High School, 421 Fountain St. NE in Grand Rapids. Registration and warm-ups are at 8:30 a.m. EST, with a 9 a.m. EST tipoff.
