Summer traveling is a lot of fun, but there's nothing like getting back home after a long road trip. Sadly, there are many cats at Crash's Landing that don't get to experience the safety and security that come with a permanent home.

Zillah is one of those cats.

Can you adopt her?

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Zillah.

Zillah was found in downtown Grand Rapids in January of 2017. She was extremely shy. It took her many days to get up the courage to come close enough to get the delicious wet food that was being set out for her. It took even longer before she would get close enough to let a friend of Crash's Landing take her in.

Finally, Zillah worked up the courage to get closer. She was well taken care of. She was spayed, treated for intestinal parasites, tested negative and vaccinated.

After some time, she was brought into Crash's Landing and placed in a foster home.

Zillah is definitely not a lap cat. She does, however, enjoy it when you pet her.

With time she continues to build trust and come out of her shell. Can you help her take the next step?

Please adopt Zillah!
