Detroit Tigers fans will have no trouble recognizing the name of this week's cat or his similarity to a certain Detroit Tigers pitcher.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is "Purrrfect Friday," where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home. This week, we're spotlighting Scherzer.

Scherzer has two different colored eyes, so does Detroit Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer.

Is there any doubt that they're big Detroit Tigers fans at Crash's Landing?

Scherzer (the cat) was rescued from the NE side of Grand Rapids. He had been left behind by his previous owners. After a short time on the wait list, Scherzer found a new home at Crash's Landing.

Scherzer is a great cat and he plays well with other cats too.

Now, Scherzer is ready for his next road trip and he needs your help to earn his next win.

Can you adopt Scherzer?

Can't adopt, but still want to help?
