In the middle of last month, Crash's Landing was lucky to be able to bring in Rixton after he was found living in the cold behind a vacant house in Grand Rapids.

Now, he is ready for a permanent home. Meet Rixton from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Rixton.

Rixton came into Crash's Landing during a cold stretch just a few weeks ago. He had been living behind a vacant house on Dickinson SW in Grand Rapids before a volunteer brought him into Crash's Landing.

Once Rixton was fixed, the only other medical issue he had was to be treated for mild gingivitis. This 4-year-old boy was in good shape. He has been vaccinated now too.

Rixton is somewhat bashful, but still loves attention. In his short time at Crash's Landing he has begun to come out of his shell. Bring him into your home and give him a chance to continue to grow!

Rixton would do well in a home with another cat or two. He would also be good with kids. Come into Crash's Landing to meet him today!
