As we prepare to celebrate our country's independence, why not show your patriotism by giving back and adopting a cat who needs a home?

Meet Miss Katy from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Miss Katy.

Miss Katy was born in January of 2004. She came to Crash's Landing in 2005, then was quickly adopted. Last year, Miss Katy returned to Crash's Landing when her owner could no longer keep her.

Crash's Landing always gives those who adopt the option to return their cat if circumstances require it. They do this to keep all of their cats safe and because they know that fans of Crash's Landing are always willing to help.

Can you adopt Miss Katy?
