Back-to-school ads are everywhere, but we're not done enjoying summer just yet. Make summer even better by adding a new member to the family.

Adopt Meery from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Meery.

Meery is one of at least six cats that are safe and sound because of the valiant efforts of Sandi D. Meery was found around Shelby Ave. off of Division Ave.

Sandi brings cats to the clinic at Crash's Landing to have them examined. When she can't place them on her own or keep them herself, they often end up as new residents at Crash's Landing.

Meery earned her named because she likes to sit up on her rump like a meerkat with her paws daintily held in front of her. Meery was lucky to find a home which she enjoyed with her housemate Tinkerbelle.

Sadly, they were both returned to Crash's Landing recently after their owner passed away unexpectedly.

Crash's Landing has promised that the two cats will be adopted together. They came into the shelter only days apart and have been best friends since they met.

Please consider welcoming these two wonderful friends into your home!
