This is Karlie's second stay at Crash's Landing. Help us make it her last!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Karlie.

Karlie first came to Crash's Landing in early 2015. She found a wonderful home, but sadly, after a few months, she got outside and was nowhere to be found. Many people searched for Karlie for a long time, but finally it seemed hope was lost. Then her owners moved, so even if Karlie did return there would be no one there to recognize her. It was a very sad situation, but amazingly it was not the end of Karlie's story.

Last fall, Crash's Landing received a call from the Kent County Animal Shelter. They said a cat with a microchip registered to Crash's Landing had been brought in. It was Karlie. She had been found just a few blocks from her old home and the staff and volunteers at Crash's Landing could hardly believe it. Even better, when they went to get her she was in good shape, although she did need a tooth pulled and she tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus, meaning that somewhere along the line she was bitten by an infected cat.

Karlie is a sweet cat who needs another chance. Please adopt her!
