Dark cats get a bad rap this time of year. Visit Crash's Landing and help us create some good luck for Juanita!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Juanita.

Juanita came to Crash's Landing after they received a call from a woman on the northwest side of Grand Rapids. Juanita had been rescued about a week earlier, but when it was discovered that she was Feline Leukemia positive, Sid's Sanctuary at Crash's Landing became her new home. The woman who rescued Juanita wasn’t comfortable bringing a cat with this virus into her home with other cats.

Feline Leukemia can be transmitted through saliva and blood. Cats around them should be fully vaccinated against the virus. Crash's Landing provides one of the few places in the Midwest where cats with Feline Leukemia are accepted.

Juanita is less than one year old. She loves to play and has enjoyed her time at Crash's Landing, but she's ready for the next chapter, her own home!

Please adopt Juanita!
