As Grand Rapids celebrates Festival and the start of summer, we're looking to give Galen at Crash's Landing a reason to celebrate with a new, forever home.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Galen.

Galen was born in the summer of 2012. He first arrived at Crash's Landing as a transfer from Montcalm County on August 29, 2016. Galen is Feline Leukemia positive and he has not been very healthy since he arrived at Crash's Landing.

When he got to Crash's Landing, Galen was filthy, flea-ridden, loaded with internal parasites and had a nasty bilateral ear infection that caused his ear drums to rupture. Soon after, he developed a fever of 106.8. Crash's Landing was able to give him some intense treatment to improve his condition.

Somehow, through it all, Galen has remained a very kind and affectionate cat. Galen has never been healthier and he would love for you to adopt him!
