Back-to-school reminders are everywhere. It won't be long before the kids head back to the classroom, but there is still time to teach many important lessons this summer.

Teach your kids about the importance of giving and helping those in need.

Adopt Choppers from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Choppers.

Choppers joined Crash's Landing in 2008 after he was found by a woman from Cedar Springs. Choppers was born in March of 2004.

Choppers needed extensive dental work and something or someone had taken part of his ear. Otherwise, Choppers was healthy.

In 2011, Choppers was adopted. Sadly, his owner became ill and couldn't keep Choppers for long.

Today, Choppers remains at Crash's Landing hoping for his second chance.

Can you adopt Choppers?
