Captain Hook has had a rough time. He's survived a tough winter. He's been impaled by fishing hooks. He's needed treatment for a rare lung-worm infection.

It's time to turn his luck around.

Please adopt Captain Hook from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Captain Hook.

Captain Hook got a rare lung-worm infection from eating crayfish, an infection that frightened his rescuer to the point she thought he was going to collapse and die from breathing so intensely labored. He also got several fish hooks embedded in his body which were attached to about 15 feet of heavy duty fishing line. Fortunately, he was able to receive treatment and recover at Crash's Landing.

Captain Hook is a shy cat who is slowly coming out of his shell. Who can blame him with the rough start he has had health-wise? But even when he was in terrible shape, he never acted out. He was just shy. All he needs is a permanent home to really have a chance to show his personality.
