As school winds down and the kids prepare for summer consider a new kind of learning. Welcome Bowie from Crash's Landing into your family and teach your kids the importance of charity and community while creating years of memories.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Bowie.

Bowie first came to Crash's Landing in earlier this year in February. He had a nasty toe infection and quite a few puncture wounds in various stages of healing when he arrived.

It was discovered that Bowie is Feline Leukemia positive. The wounds may have been a contributing factor.

Even though Bowie has tested positive there is no reason to second-guess adopting him as long as your home has cats who are fully vaccinated against the virus or he will be the only cat in the home.

Please adopt Bowie!
