As the kids get out of school and return home for summer we are reminded that there is plenty of learning that goes on outside of the classroom.

Adopt a cat from Crash's Landing and your kids will learn about charity and responsibility.

They'll also make a great friend.

Meet Autumn from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Autumn.

Autumn was born in fall of 2009. She was abandoned when she became a mom with a litter of 5 still-nursing kittens.

Fortunately she was taken in by a friend of Crash's Landing's in Saranac. Autumn was given a place to stay with her kittens.

Later, Autumn developed pneumonia. She eventually beat the pneumonia and was able to secure a spot at Crash's Landing.

Autumn is a shy cat who is ready for a new home.

Can you adopt her?
