Only five days before Art Prize begins.  Pretty exciting.  Everybody is anxious to get going...to see the art...to vote for their favorites.  Ahhh, that could be the problem.  Remember the long lines to activate your phone so you could text your vote.  Well, you could avoid that this year with early registration and activation.  ArtPrize's headquarters, known as "The Hub" opens Saturday for an opportunity for you to register to vote and activate your account.

WZZM TV13 says it is the first time ArtPrize lovers will get an opportunity to see The Hub which is the site of the former UICA building.

The goal is to get people to register and activate early so that they're good to go when ArtPrize starts in five days.

Registering is easy. All you need is a unique email address which means each voter must have an individual email address.

You can go online at the ArtPrize homepage to sign up. If you already registered last year, just find your email address and remember your password.

Executive Director Catherine Creamer says, "If you're still a little confused, you can get guidance during the event on Saturday.

"If you have any problems registering we can walk you through it-- you don't need to come to the hub to register- but we help facilitate that here," she said.

Once you registered, you have to follow with activating your account. Voters have to do that in person to make things fair.

All you have to do is bring an ID and you can activate your status anytime from September 21st to October 5th.

The ArtPrize Hub opening for early registration and activation happens Saturday, September 17 from 9 a.m.- 8:30 p.m. at 41 Sheldon Blvd. in Grand Rapids.
