The family-approved GoFundMe site for 14-year-old Kalamazoo shooting victim Abigail Kopf reports that Abigail is now breathing on her own.

UPDATE: On Monday morning, February 29, Abigail's condition was upgraded from critical to serious.

The update appeared on the GoFundMe page on Sunday evening.

Our hearts are full of joy right now as we celebrate a milestone for Abbie. The tube is out she's breathing on her own. And she wiped her own face with a towel! Bless you all and we have so much gratitude for your support.

The GoFundMe page has raised over $18,000 in four days.

Today's report shows progress. On Thursday evening, the Kopf family issued a statement saying that Abigail had given a thumbs up and wiggled her toes.
