A Very Special Teddy Bear Helps Children Cope With Hospital Stays [Video]

A research group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology just unveiled a new robotic toy to help young children cope with being in the hospital.

This interactive robot teddy bear is called a Huggable, and it reduces stress, anxiety and pain in kids by engaging them. 

How wonderful is that!

The Laughing Squid website explains that Smartphone technology controls the bear’s movements while sensors, cameras and microphones inside the bear allow the bear to “respond” to what’s going on around it – putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them to feel a lot less lonely.
