It's hard to believe, but Festival is just days away...next weekend!

2016 will be the 47th Festival of the Arts, making it one of the longest-running festivals in the state.

Festival always takes place the first full weekend in June in downtown Grand Rapids, with the dates for this year, June 3 - 5.

Festival of the Arts is a community celebration in downtown Grand Rapids, featuring arts, entertainment, food and fun activities for the entire family. All Festival performances, exhibits and activities are free, thanks to generous donations by local organizations, companies and individuals.

There are six indoor or outdoor stages with non-stop music of all types, plus dance, theatre, and more, including poetry, films, and storytelling. Of course, for big and little kids, there are lots of art activities!

And, although entertainment is the 'thing,' it's probably the food throughout Festival that people come most for. There will be dozens of food booths operated by local nonprofit organizations. It's their opportunity to make money to help support the good work they do in the community, and our opportunity to sample food from around the world. YUM!
