Did you see the news regarding David Letterman and Al-Qaeda?

Dave's apparent mockery of the demise of an accused terrorist is triggering a threatening reaction, and some experts believe he should take precautions. The website tracking company SITE Intelligence Group says upset visitors to a website frequently used by Al-Qaeda are calling for an assassination following Dave's comments about the death of Ilyas Kashmiri in June.

SITE analyst Adam Raisman tells "Entertainment Weekly" the threat was made on Shumukh-al-Islam which he describes as a "clearing house for Al-Qaeda material." The post apparently misidentified Letterman as a Jew and referred to the comedian's gesture in putting a hand to his neck as demonstrative of the "way of slaughter."

Raisman believes the threat is more "explicit" than one that was issued against the creators of "South Park" last year and advises Letterman to take "as much precaution as he would with an obsessed fan." Raisman and his group are trying to find out more information about the poster who called himself Umar al-Basrawi. CBS has not commented on the report.
