2016 National Tri Championship Event in Grand Rapids

The Grand Rapids Triathlon, presented by Huntington and Nutrilite, has once again made the list to host a National Championship event. The GR Tri is honored to accept the Nationals designation for a third year in a row.

This year, the GR Tri will be hosting Clydesdale (men over 220lbs) and Athena (women over 165lbs) Nationals for those athletes who compete in the sprint, Olympic or half iron distance triathlon.

The Grand Rapids Triathlon is in its 6th year and offers Sprint, Olympic and Half Iron distances. This event is the largest independent triathlon in the state and ranks in the top 5% in the country. It was also voted one of the top 5 for being newbie friendly!
