2016 Meijer LPGA Classic [Photos]

The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give enjoyed a successful tournament last weekend at Blythefield Country Club! 144 of the top female golfers in the world were on hand as $850,000 was raised for local food pantries.

Here are some highlights of the competition won by Sei Young Kim.

The win was the 5th career LPGA Tour victory for Kim, but it took a one-hole playoff to earn it. It was a playoff Kim wasn't necessarily expecting. She told LPGA.com:

“Before playoff I felt like already win but I didn’t check the leaderboard,” Kim said.  “Then I thought the ceremony was already.”

After she signed her card, Kim was greeted by an LPGA rules official who alerted her that she would be heading back to the 18th tee to compete in the playoff with Ciganda.

“Why’s he waiting for me?,” Kim admitted to wondering. “So after go to the tee box and I realize there’s the playoff.  Wow.”

Carlota Ciganda finished second after the playoff.
