Festival of the Arts in Grand Rapids is always filled with fun for kids. There is hands-on art projects, storytelling, live music, and more.

Here are some highlights for kids at Festival 2014.

Events run for the duration of Festival unless otherwise indicated.

 

FACE PAINTING at the lawn of the Federal Building.

KIDS ART ZONE. On Monroe Center, Friday 3:30pm - 7:30pm and Saturday 10:30am - 3:00pm. Kids create art projects which they may take home.

MAD HATTER. Kids 4 - 12 create fun hats on Wege Plaza in front of Grand Rapids Art Museum.

BUY A BALLOON FOR $1 on Ottawa Avenue north of Lyon in front of courthouse. Money raised supports Festival of the Arts.

PAINT-IN. Kids paint at Fifth Third parking lot.

SIDEWALK CHALK at the lawn of the Federal Building.

GLUE-IN: kids create works of art using wood, glue, and recycled materials at Fifth Third parking lot.

OPEN ART FOR ALL. Hands-on exploration with clay at Kendall College of Art and Design. Sunday, Noon - 5:00pm. All ages.

ZOT ARTZ EXPERIENCE. Painting tool helps children with disabilities at Kendall College of Art and Design. Saturday, 10:00am - 5:00pm.

WEST MICHIGAN YOUTH BALLET - Saturday, 11:45am at Calder Stage.

KEVIN KAMMERAAD - puppets. Saturday, 12:30pm at County Courthouse.

STEVE FALVO - stories for kids and families. Saturday, 5:15pm at County Courthouse.

GLORIA CANGELOSI - stories for kids 4 - 10 years old. Sunday, 12:30pm at County Courthouse.
