Ottawa County experienced job growth in 2013.

That trend is expected to continue in 2014.

Ottawa County had job growth of 2.2% in 2013.

Earlier this week, the Upjohn Institute said that they expect more growth in Ottawa County this year.

WZZM13.com reports:

George Erickcek with the Upjohn Institute spoke to business and government leaders Tuesday morning at a West Coast Chamber of Commerce event.

Erickcek says the county's job growth improved by 2.2% in 2013, and he predicts that number will rise to 2.4% in 2014.

The good news spreads further than just Ottawa County.

Last month, Grand Rapids received some good economic news and was declared to be fully recovered from the recession.

Looking forward to a strong future in West Michigan.
