Day 1 of the Michigan high school football championships featured four games and three West Michigan teams.

One of those West Michigan teams brought home a championship trophy!

Friday's games included Muskegon (Division 2), South Christian (Division 4), and Muskegon Catholic Central (Division 8).

South Christian lost to Marine City in a shootout, 49-35. A strong running game helped Marine City secure the win.

Muskegon lost to Brother Rice, 38-21. It was the second straight year Muskegon lost to Brother Rice in the finals. WZZM has more on Muskegon's game.

Muskegon Catholic Central beat Beal City 35-12 to win the Division 8 Championship! MCC's early 78-yard touchdown run helped set the tone for the Crusaders. WZZM has more on MCC's win.

Congrats to all three teams on great seasons!

Looking forward to more championship games on Saturday!
