Yesterday brought another sign of Grand Rapids' continued economic growth as The Right Place, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the City of Grand Rapids, announced a tech company will be investing $2.7 million into an existing warehouse in Grand Rapids and creating 115 jobs.

Tech Defenders, based in Grand Rapids, is an "information technology asset disposition and mobile device repair company."

They work primarily with school districts across the U.S. who use mobile devices in the classroom, such as Chromebooks, iPads and Macbooks. Tech Defenders helps to increase the life span and recovery value of the devices. They can also repair them or buy them back when they become obsolete.

Tech Defenders currently has 120 employees. Their new, just announced, 73,000 sq. ft. facility, will be located at 601 Maryland Ave. NW in Grand Rapids. The site will allow them to increase operations, capacity and storage.
