100.5 The River has been traveling all over West Michigan to take part in Christmas parades.

Watch for us in the Coopersville Santa Parade on Friday, December 7!

As you can see from the picture our Jeep Wrangler is hard to miss!  The Jeep is from Harold Zeigler Crysler Dodge Jeep in Grandville.  The Christmas logo is done by Rev Business Solutions.

We've had a lot of fun in the parades!

The Rockford Santa Parade was the first parade for my 6-year-old daughter.  She was so excited!  Here's a few things we learned in the parade or did to prepare for the big day:

  • My 6-year-old picked out a special ring and bracelet to wear on her waving hand for everyone to see. She only wore one glove to avoid covering them up.
  • A perfect princess wave must be practiced in private for days, but not revealed until parade time.
  • Some 6-year-olds have never seen a manual crank window and do not know how to open them.
  • When waiting for a parade to begin with your 6-year-old, DO NOT park your Jeep next to a fire truck filled with boys who are about the same age.  I'd like to (not) thank Tom Cook for pointing out the constant looks between both vehicles as we waited.  And to the guys in the firetruck - the only phone number she has is mine and you are NOT getting it.

So far we've been in Christmas parades in Rockford, Lowell, and Holland.  We will be in Coopersville at 7:00pm on Friday, December 7.  Wmta.org has more on Coopersville's parade:

One of the original night-time parades in Michigan, this annual event begins immediately following the lighting of Lori's Tree at the corner of Eastmanville & Main Streets.

Guests are invited to a free ride on the Coopersville & Marne Railway Shuttle from East Street adjacent to the school campus to the downtown area. After their return ride they are invited to have free refreshments while the children have a visit with Santa, get their faces painted and more.

See you in Coopersville!  Then watch for us spreading holiday cheer all over West Michigan in our Jeep Wrangler the rest of the month!
