The West Michigan Whitecaps play at home this weekend. They host the Lake County Captains. $1 will go a long way this weekend… On Friday, they will offer a $1 small Pepsi and $1 junior hot dogs. On Saturday you can get a Little Caesars Pizza Slice for $1. And on Sunday, it’s Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital Family Day and you can get lawn seats for $1.

The inaugural Cider Week GR concludes with the first of its kind hard cider festival on the Blue Bridge in downtown Grand Rapids, hosted by Michigan Cider Association. The Grand Raggidy Roller Derby are proud to be one of only 30 founding member leagues of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association since its inception in 2005. It’s a double header…Grand Raggidy Roller Derby have invited to the track Maine Roller Derby from Portland, ME and Illiana Derby Dames from Lynwood, IL. This evening is all about our furry friends! Come sporting your best orange outfit and get ready for some games! BC LAX is having their first annual BC Lacrosse Fight Cancer Game on Sunday. All proceeds from the day will go to help off set medical costs for Dylan Bussa, an 11th grade lacrosse player at BCPS that is battling cancer, as well as a donation made to cancer research. A free clinic for all Byron Center residents grades 3rd-8th from 12:00 Noon-1:30 pm will be hosted by MSU LAX coaches and players. All you need is a stick. The Byron Center JV will play Kentwood at 2:00 pm. The Byron Center Varsity will play Holland at 4:00 pm. MSU will play WMU at 7:00 pm. From 2:00 pm-6:00 pm a free mini carnival will take place. Admission for the entire day is $5. BC LAX is selling tee-shirts for $10 in honor of Dylan. Wear your tee-shirt and get in free. You can purchase tee-shirts at the game or buy them early by going to the office of any BCPS school and fill out the tee-shirt order form.
